Mirek Smyk, Head of TV Services, Romtelecom

Mirek has almost 10 years hands-on experience and international exposure in strategic and operational management in pay-TV and telecom in Balkans and CEE.

Aged 29 he was appointed the youngest General Manager of DTH platform worldwide and during recent 2 years grew Romtelecom Dolce platform to more than 1.2 million set-top-boxes deployed.. Moreover he is among few people in IPTV industry that conceptualized and launched two different IPTV platforms in two different markets (O2 TV in Czech Republic and Dolce Interactiv in Romania).

Currently Mirek is focusing on strategic content partnerships and TV business development for Romtelecom and Deutsche Telecom group in Southern and Eastern Europe. Previous experience he gained while working for different companies from Telefonica, T-Mobile, France Telecom and Energis groups.
