Mirek (32) has more than 10 years hands-on experience and international exposure within pay-TV and telco industry in Central and Eastern Europe and Balkans. Founder and owner of Mirek Smyk Consulting Group, a successful niche pay-TV and entertainment consulting boutique and content distribution company for CEE and CIS region. Prior to starting his own business, Mirek was holding position of General Manager TV Business at Romtelecom (Deutsche Telecom and OTE Group), becoming at the age of 29 the youngest managing director of pay-TV platform worldwide and was behind one of the biggest TV successes by an incumbent telco in the EU (1.3 million STBs deployed and TV revenues and subscribers exceeded broadband ones). Mirek is also  among few people worldwide that conceptualized, launched and marketed two IPTV platforms in different markets: Dolce Interactive in Romania (2009) and O2 TV in Czech Republic (2006). Prior to joining Telefonica O2 Czech Republic Mirek was holding various strategic positions within leading telecom brands in the region: PTC ERA (DT Group), TP SA (FT Group) and Energis Polska.
